The company's journey to divert unrecyclable materials and turn, "trash into trendy," is fueled by the passion of the husband and wife duo, Josh and Heather Carpenter. No strangers to the recycling industry, the couple opened A & J Industrial in 2007, quickly carving out a niche in the agricultural community. As they began to develop a reputation, they began to be approached with lay-flat tubing, an indestructible material, and were struck with a new possibility. Why not divert the material, and find a way to upcycle it into something stylish? Thus began a lengthy quest to find a manufacturer, who was willing to try something new. Now, thanks to the tenacity of the Carpenters, the "trash," is poised to make it's arrival on the fashion landscape with this to say: Green is the new black!
