Unity Residential Care Services Limited is a Residential Children's Services company located in the West Midlands. Our sister companies are an independent school and a not-for-profit foundation.The idea behind Unity came from role models and entrepreneurs from the creative industries in Stoke-on-Trent. It was about giving something back to the community from people, who despite their own barriers as children, managed to go on and be successful.The organisation began life in 2005 as a social enterprise aimed at tackling the disadvantage that the directors saw on a daily basis in Stoke-on-Trent and North Staffordshire. Youth employment was high, families were living in poverty, school exclusions were rife and educational attainment was some of the lowest across the entire country.Unity began to create innovative and creative solutions to these problems and through multi agency working, fundraising and empowerment of local communities we began to improve some of these outcomes for local young people.Our vision is to become the leading provider of high quality residential care for young people across Staffordshire and surrounding counties. We believe that by encouraging positive personal development through a community based approach together with increased opportunities in the arts, sports and culture, we can offer a modern alternative to traditional care. We are proud to say that we have won local business awards and have achieved Outstanding ratings from Ofsted in our homes. We are hugely committed to developing and supporting our staff and children, and we want to be the absolute best both for the children we serve and the staff who work for us.
