At Naidao Research Center, every project is both action and research oriented. Action research embraces the core ideas of Naidao's innovating society concepts for an improvement of culture and environment, for an enhancement of new regional economy systems, sustainable urbanization and social development. Naidao Research Center has four central research areas : Regional economy, Sustainable urbanization, Elder care and Aesthetic lifestyle. To conduct action research, we find development projects (urbanization, territorial development, strategy for local governments, cultural heritage protection) that are in line with those four areas. Research is conducted on the field, along with the development of the projects, generally on a long term cooperation. That is why we call our interventions on projects programs. Action Research Programs (A.R.P) or Heritage Protection Programs (H.P.P), both need for Naida researchers not only to provide strategy and consulting, but more importantly, to follow the good development of all of what we design for each programs. Conduct action research allows us to adapt our strategy to evolving situations and to work on long term projects (from 2 to more then 10 years). Research and knowledge is taken and created at two levels of sources : in the academic world through conferences, workshops and articles, and on the ground directly with the actors of the development trends we analyse and work on. Those actors are government representatives, investment groups, real estate companies, professionals of architecture, design, culture, engineers, local populations and the civil society. Our action research methodology allows us to create an important network of bridges between actors which, otherwise, exchanges are limited. We merge the academic research and professional worlds together, to find concrete and directly appliable solutions for the development of tomorrow's society.
