Ladybug Acres is a small farm, some might call us a gentleman's farm. Owned by Dave and Becca Mengel, the 130-plus year old Victorian Farmhouse and bank barn sits on almost 3 acres. But on those 3 acres, we have many rabbits, ducks, geese, chickens, guineas and honey bees. We grow our own herbs and vegetables and sometimes offer products made from them. We have a large woodshop and a large sewing and crafting room, where we contribute to the wares offered in the store. Here at Ladybug acres we are proud to offer vintage, locally and internationally handcrafted and artisan made gifts, furniture, house wares, clothing and accessories for all ages. Some of the items we offer make clever use of recycled materials, helping to preserve our planet. We have artisans that make up-cycled clothing, by taking old clothing and putting a new twist on it. Other artisans have a knack for re-purposing unwanted objects into something else altogether. Another passion of ours is for anything that is handcrafted by artisans. Those people who can take a skein of yarn and turn it into a beautiful baby afghan, doll or an intricate doily to adorn your table. We admire the Woodcrafters, who can take a few boards, some nails and a hammer and make a beautiful sofa table for your living room, or the seamstress who takes a yard of cloth and turns it into a fabulous one of a kind handbag or a gorgeous quilt to snuggle under. Furniture and objects that have stood the test of time with their quality craftsmanship of days gone by fascinate us. Sometimes just the simple beauty of the piece or the thought of the stories the item could tell if it could talk, make us bring them home to share with you.Special Orders and Commission work are always welcome. We are always looking for new artists and crafts people. Contact us for more information.
