In 1946, a small shoyu (soy sauce) manufacturing plant was established in Kalihi, Hawaii by five local Japanese families amidst post World War II. The word Shoyu originates from Japan and is a term widely accepted in Hawaii which refers to Soy Sauce. Aloha, a term widely used as a greeting, also signifies important values in the Hawaiian culture, which includes kindness, unity, humility and perseverance.Over the years our line has grown from only soy sauces, to include a variety of sauces, marinades, and vinegars to meet the changing and expanding needs of the consumer.
