Flotation Energy plc is an independent offshore wind developer, established in 2018 to develop full-scale commercial offshore wind farms in the UK and internationally. We aim to partner with companies entering the offshore wind market, offering our extensive experience, guidance, and providing you with confidence. We have offices in the UK (Scotland), Australia, Taiwan and Japan.The Flotation Energy team are leading experts in floating and fixed offshore wind developments and have been at the heart of the offshore wind industry over the last twenty years. We have developed some 3GW of fixed offshore wind and more recently the 50MW Kincardine Offshore floating project, that will see the construction and operation of the world's largest floating offshore windfarm in 2020. The project was initiated in 2013 by Allan MacAskill and Nicol Stephen, who subsequently partnered with Grupo Cobra, part of the ACS Group, in 2016. The first 2MW turbine was installed in September 2018 and the remaining five 9.5 MW machines will be installed in 2020. Flotation Energy is in a strong position to make use of its unique combination of experience, expertise, and insight in offshore wind to identify and develop fixed and floating offshore wind projects. Our business model is to identify offshore wind energy prospects in key target markets and progress these through the complex development process to full scale commercial projects that minimise risk and maximise value. To this end, it has a portfolio of projects in development, centred around three pillars consisting of winning acreage in UK leasing rounds, being active in the oil & gas Energy Transition and developing international opportunities in key markets based on our track record in the UK and the Energy Transition.
