Amirix Systems Inc, through its' product division Vemco, specializes in the design and manufacture of underwater acoustic transmitters and receivers. Miniature Vemco transmitters are attached to or surgically implanted in fish. These transmitters emit a unique ID. When the fish swims within range of a Vemco receiver, the ID is stored in the receiver for future access and analysis. Transmitters can also information on depth and temperture at time of emission.
