The Family Effect works to reduce addiction as a leading cause of family collapse and harm to children in Upstate South Carolina. We accomplish this goal by raising money and recruiting volunteers for research-based programs at The Phoenix Center of Greenville that are focused on families and children. Programs supported include: Serenity Place: a residential treatment facility for pregnant women, young mothers and their preschool children. The Academy: comprehensive, residential treatment for teenage boys age 13-17. Adolescent Outpatient Treatment: services for more than 300 youth each year Prevention: Educational programming delivered to more than 20,000 Greenville County students and adults each year, combined with retail enforcement work in partnership with the Greenville County Sheriff's Department. The Family Effect is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and our Board of Directors includes Chair Wallace Lightsey of Wyche Burgess Freeman & Parham, and Coach Dabo Swinney of the Clemson Tigers.
