Bee Hive Homes got its start in 1987 because a son, Twayne Walker, a builder by trade, couldn't find an acceptable place for his Mom to live. Her needs had surpassed his ability to care for her and he didn't want to put her just anywhere. Many homes then available did not provide a pleasant atmosphere where residents could live happily. To make matters worse, the cost of most facilities were out of reach for many of the elderly and their families.Twayne built a home for his Mom with the innovative idea that the elderly deserve a clean and comfortable family setting in a home at an affordable price when they reach a point in life where they need assisted living care. Before he had even completed the first phase of his assisted living home there was so much interest shown by potential residents that many of them were ready to move in as soon as it was completed.Jay Manning expanded on this innovative concept, building homes throughout Arizona, Texas, and New Mexico, geared towards the needs of these elderly people. We provide the comforts of home, with loving caregivers, home-cooked meals, and facilities designed to expand the independence of our residents. You can feel peace of mind with your Mom or Dad or other family member in a Bee Hive Home, knowing they are comfortable and well cared for. We encourage family participation and often get to know our resident's families and friends almost as well as our own. Our residents deserve to feel important and valued so we provide activities that help our residents to thrive and enjoy life such as: exercise and yoga, art classes and musical events, annual parties & picnics. We strongly encourage community participation from schools and churches, and other community organizations. At Bee Hive Homes we really do strive to be the next best place to home.
