Tri-County S.P.E.A.K.S. (formerly People Against Rape) is a sexual assault advocacy program offering support and services for survivors of sexual assault in Charleston, Dorchester, and Berkeley counties of South Carolina. The mission of PAR is to prevent sexual violence and its consequences, and to provide essential services to victims and survivors.TCS has three primary goals:To provide advocacy and support for survivors of sexual assault and their families and friends. This includes crisis intervention, information and referrals, court and medical accompaniment, and a 24-hour hotline. To educate the public about the problems of sexual assault and its consequences, with an emphasis on primary prevention of sexual violence. To work collaboratively with the criminal justice system, other victim assistance agencies, and other agencies to insure that they have accurate information about sexual assault and the needs of sexual assault victims.
