Headed by two dynamic Italian architects Giorgio Palermo and Elena Gregorutti the consultancy formerly known as studioati underwent a significant rebranding in 2019 and is now known as NIU.The rebranding of the practice, whose expertise lies in architecture, interior architecture and interior design initially established in 2001 has brought considerable success and prominence to the firm, including the winning and being shortlisted in prestigious UAE awards including the CID and identity 2019 Awards. They have also been included for the first time in the Architectural Digest on 2019 and 2020 Top 50 Middle East Architects and Interior Designer List. Palermo and Gregorutti spearhead a specialized team delivering bespoke projects globally. NIU's diverse portfolio also includes commercial, retail and hospitality projects. Their expertise in product design has led to the creation of a custom lighting collection.
