The Zoo Society is a 501(c)(3) non-profit fundraising organization whose mission and purpose is to engage our community in support of Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium's education, conservation, research and preservation efforts through the Pacific Northwest, the Pacific Rim and beyond. Goods and/or services donated to the Society are tax-deductible as allowed by law. Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium is located on 29 acres within Tacoma's Point Defiance Park. The Zoo is a national leader in endangered species breeding and reintroduction efforts and is a fully accredited member of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA). It is the only combined zoo and aquarium in the Northwest, with annual attendance of more than 800,000 visitors annually.
