The New Hampshire Judicial Branch employs approximately 800 employees and 80 judges in 30 court locations throughout the state. New Hampshire has a unified court system where all courts are managed under one operating structure. The Administrative Office of the Courts, located in Concord, performs centralized, specialized services and activities such as human resources management, facilities management, accounting, financial management, auditing, information technology, Superior and Circuit Court Administrative Offices, Information Call Center, e-filing center, and central processing.The Supreme Court, located in Concord, is composed of the Chief Justice and four Associate Justices. The Supreme Court is the highest level state court with jurisdiction to review appeals from the state trial courts and from many state administrative agencies. The Superior Court, is a state-wide court, with locations in each county. The Superior Courts general jurisdiction provides trials in civil and criminal cases. The Circuit Court, also a state-wide court, has at least one Circuit Court in each county, some counties have more. The Circuit Court is comprised of District, Probate and Family matters; handling 90 percent of all cases filed in the state court system. The mission of the New Hampshire Judicial Branch is to preserve the rule of law and protect the rights and liberties guaranteed by the United States and New Hampshire Constitutions. The courts will provide accessible, prompt, and efficient forums for the fair and independent administration of justice with respect for the dignity of all we serve.
