The governing body of the Students' Union is called the University of Technology, Jamaica Students' Union Council. The Students' Union Council is charged with representing student rights on academic and social issues, providing educational, social and sporting fulfilment, while promoting unity, and a sense of belonging on the campuses, the planning and implementation of activities that contribute to the inner community and the wider society through social responsibility, fostering and improving channels of communication amongst all stakeholders, and catering to the welfare of students, with the aim of ensuring that students receive at least the minimum comfort required while in pursuit of higher education.
