NUS Malay Studies Society is an academic society with links to the National University of Singapore (NUS) Malay Studies Department. It was formed out of the need to establish a discursive environment on campus. Since its early days, NUSMSS has aimed at promoting a culture of critical thinking amongst undergraduate, hence our motto: "Renung. Fikir. Suara." (Reflect. Think. Speak.).However, the idea of functioning and critical thinkers extend beyond the four walls of the university, and so NUSMSS has strived to engage the public at large.With our mission statement in mind, "to be more inclusive in our approach towards achieving our vision in building an intellectual culture within society", we hope that the conversations and issues we raise will make students and the general masses think and reflect on the conditions of our society.
