At Mountainsmith, we celebrate not only the gear that hasled us here, but the stories, adventures, and experiences thathave defined the rugged, Colorado-grown, no B.S. lifestyle wecontinue to share.Founded in Golden, Colorado in 1979, Mountainsmith wasborn and bred in the Rockies. Our story began with Coloradoadventurists that never quite fit (or cared about) the statusquo. Not afraid to get their hands dirty, they needed seriouslydurable gear that could withstand the rigors of their backcountrypursuits. With weeks at a time in the woods, they'd come up withnew ideas and prototypes out of any materials on-hand, not justbuilding gear, but building a culture and brand that is still rootedin its connection to the Rockies.We've spent the last 40+ years playing and working hard; testingand creating innovative technology and materials; serving andjoining non-traditional outdoorsmen and women on trails longand short; combining our passions for backpacking, camping,and hiking. Our gear, like our community, is forged for life.
