TARH – Terra, Ambiente e Recursos Hídricos, is a small consultancy company with experience in the fields of Hydrogeology and Environment, and a leading Portuguese company in the groundwater resources engineering sector. Created in 1998, TARH has developed several projects in the field of water exploration and exploitation, water protection for human supply, balneotherapic uses and water bottling. It was one of the first companies in Portugal to work on the geothermal application for direct uses, and is currently giving consulting to Electricidade de Açores (EDA) for groundwater and geothermal resources exploration and management. The company know-how is enhanced by the 45 years individual professional experience of our partner Prof. Doutor José Martins Carvalho in projects in Portugal, Spain, Italy, Africa and Latin America. TARH offers a wide range of services in the fields of Hydrogeology and Environment, always giving the closest possible support to customers, finding the most suitable cost-effective solutions in an adequate scale. Almost all projects involve the creation or the support of a sound hydrogeological model, a company trademark, which can be used for the future management of hydrogeological resources. A sound network of relationships with universities and investigation bodies was developed by our senior staff, eg, Instituto Superior de Engenharia do Porto, GEOBIOTEC (Aveiro University), Lisbon University and Oporto University.
