The Aberdeen Area Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) is a 501 (c) 6 organization incorporated September 4, 1992 in the State of South Dakota. The CVB's annual budget, marketing plan, and work direction are reviewed by a volunteer Board of Directors. Funds for the CVB are allocated by the Aberdeen City Council from the City's promotion tax collections (BBB), the Aberdeen Area Sportsman Coop, and the BID II for operational and administrative services. The Aberdeen Area Convention and Visitors Bureau's purpose is to enhance the economic well being of the community and the area through through tourism spending by increasing visitors to the Aberdeen area. In addition to catering to our visitor market, the CVB provides other services that no other Aberdeen organization does. The Bureau bids on conventions and events and provides services to these groups, including but not limited to name badges, visitor welcome packets of Aberdeen information, coupons, registration assistance, tours, and welcome speeches. The CVB also cross markets with the Aberdeen Development Corp., the Downtown Association, and the Chamber in their plan of work. The Aberdeen Area Convention and Visitors Bureau is proud to play an active role in the economic growth, vitality, and quality of life in Aberdeen.
