The mission of the Lord Howe Island Museum is to present the natural and cultural history of our World Heritage Island.Completed in 2000, the new Lord Howe Island Museum contains two display galleries - Environmental and Historical. The museum also houses a cafe, shop, Visitor Information desk, library and audiovisual room with regular screenings on Lord Howe Island and special guest lecturers.The museum is run by a volunteer committee of six; with extra volunteers staffing a reception desk, and designing temporary displays, cataloging etc.
