The Bicycle Society pins positive emotions to cycling through inspirational cycling classes in schools and communities. We create serotonin moments whilst cycling, these create a positive memory of cycling that lasts forever. Therefore embedding cycling in the nature of our children. Our Biking Schools and Biking School Partnerships have trained over 60,000 children and increased cycling to school from a baseline of 2% to 9%-20% and 60% on peak celebration days. Our next phase of programmes are to support cycling to school as a household, from doorstep to destination as a safe, enjoyable and welcoming experience. To achieve this, we aim to:Close all residential roads to through trafficNo car 30 mins before drop off and 15 mins after pick up timeMembership subscription that offers families the correct bikes, knowledge, confidence, support, discounts and rewards to cycle frequently. Parents that cycle to school, continue their onwards journey by bike.Children that cycle to school see cycling as a viable and enjoyable way to travel for life.
