In particular, large quantities of aggregates are used to build roads and nonresidential properties.In addition, Sterling supplies high calcium limestone, sometimes referred to as chemical limestone, to the lime industry. Sterling's chemical limestone is mined from our 3rd level in the Camp Nelson formation which consists of limestone with an average calcium carbonate content above 95%. Chemical limestone can be used in steel production, mineral feeds, poultry grits, and other industries where high calcium carbonate content is required.
