On January 17, 2009, Danish Baseball Federation (DBaF) was recognized as the sole organizer of baseball in Denmark by The Danish National Olympic Committee. As of February 15, 2009, DBaF also became an official member of Confederation of European Baseball (CEB) and International Baseball Federation (IBAF); which combined to form the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) in 2013.The mission of the Danish Baseball Federation is:1) to establish and maintain an organizational structure that promotes baseball and baseball activities in Denmark. 2) to develop and support baseball activities (senior & junior) and facilities; at least one baseball stadium in Jutland, on Funen and Zealand. 3) to collect a national pool of players for international competitions, also on Danish soil. 4) to promote a baseball culture in all Denmark. About the beauty of the game....The Danish Baseball Federation wants Danes to be able to learn about the beauty of the game of baseball, much as they did as children playing "rund bold" in neighborhood backyards all over Denmark. Cut green grass fields, with symmetrical diamond shapes in sand (grus) infield formations and baserunning paths create a cozy atmosphere that reminds young and old of carefree childhood days romping from base to base, enjoying the weather and the social setting. The Danish Baseball Federation had specific goals for 2009 and fulfilled those goals. DBaF has also developed 3 yr, 5 yr and 7 yr plans, which would include building at least one baseball field in each of the three major regions of Denmark: Jutland, Fyn and Sjælland. A similar strategy was used in the Czech Republic that now has 15 high quality and international standard baseball "diamonds" (playing fields) that were developed over a 20 years for a national population of 10 million citizens.
