A History of Excellence. CFS was founded by Dieter Christoph who opened the southeast office in Savannah, Georgia in 1979. At the time, CFS was known as Continental Field Machining South but in 1990 was officially changed to Continental Field Systems. In 1997, Erich Christoph, son of the company's founder, stepped in to the leadership role furthering his father's legacy of company growth and success.
