The Migrant is a new publication that aims to expose and highlight all issues pertaining to the rights of people that, for a variety of reasons, move away from their place of usual residence, whether within a country or across an international border, temporarily or permanently. Through this endeavour we want to promote the rights of not only migrants but of refugees and asylum seekers also - whose basic human rights are often violated or perhaps worse, simply ignored. Empathy-driven research and analysis created by our writers are the means through which we at The Migrant hope to raise awareness of these issues that afflict a very real human cost. By raising awareness of these issues we hope that the appreciation and understanding of the importance and complexity of migratory events taking place in the world today will be increased.
