For existing homes we offer Energy Audits, which assess the home's energy features and performance, identify problem areas, and recommend cost-effective improvements. These assessments use state-of-the-art building science concepts with sophisticated diagnostic testing. We provide referrals to contractors for retrofit work for items such as air sealing, duct sealing, insulation, HVAC, window replacement, renewable energy and general contracting.For new construction, we work with home builders to select and design the energy features of each home so its energy performance exceeds that required by code. We provide third-party verification and testing of the home's construction, materials and performance, in accordance with several national programs.Our energy professionals are trained and experienced RESNET™-certified HERS raters. RESNET is the Residential Energy Services Network; HERS is Home Energy Rating System, the standard of the U.S. Mortgage Industry for energy ratings of existing homes.
