Challenge is a not-for-profit organisation that delivers daily support to children and families living with cancer. Since 1983, Challenge has helped over 25,000 children and families, making a real difference to their quality of life from the moment they are diagnosed, through treatment and beyond.Challenge is the only cancer support agency that provides over 300 young people and their families vital support services in and out of hospital every week.We are based at the Challenge Family Centre, the first of its kind in Australia, where children and their families can access an extensive range of non-medical support services including playgroup, music therapy, massage therapy and a resource library. Our kids' programs include Challenge playgroup, camps, activities, ticketing, celebrity experiences, music and art therapy and in-hospital support which includes providing hospital patients with access to computers, the internet, DVDs and gaming consoles.Our family programs include lunches and weekends away for parents, home help (including cleaning houses, shopping, meal preparation and lawn mowing), family holiday accommodation in three locations outside of Melbourne, monthly hospital parent dinners, transportation and financial assistance.
