The Konsorsium Pembaruan Agraria (Consortium for Agrarian Reform), or KPA, was established in 1994 in Indonesia and has been a member of ILC since 1997. The organization is an agrarian reform movement based organization, which is comprised of 143 people's organisations (peasants, fishermen, indigenous people, and women organizations) and NGOs as its members. The organization's objective is to fight for agrarian justice and welfare for all in Indonesia through the implementation of the agrarian reform. The main aims of KPA's works are: strengthening people's organization capacity, national policy advocacy, conflict resolution and research-campaigns. Over the last 22 years, KPA became a pioneer in the struggle for agrarian reform in Indonesia. Today KPA has a well-established position on the country's political stage, when it comes to agrarian reform issues. In the 2014 presidential election, KPA with its alliance, pushed candidates to adopt agrarian reform through their political commitments. After the election, the organization urged the Government to prioritize this agenda. Under President Jokowi's administration, KPA managed to urge the Government in issuing the Presidential Regulation No. 45/2016 on Government Work Plan which mentioning the Government work priorities, including agrarian reform. Thus, KPA will monitor the Government's work plan in agrarian reform implementation.Regardless of its strong political position, KPA also established relations with other social movements in the country. In 2015, after the National Conference for Agrarian Reform (KNRA) was held, along with 37 national CSOs, KPA established the National Committee for Agrarian Reform (KNPA) to guard the implementation of KNRA outputs submitted to the Indonesian Government. KPA is regularly in the media and is often invited to collaborate and engage with ministries, research institutes and universities.
