Noshirvani Institute of Technology was founded in 1970 by a great benevolent & honorable man and one of the greatest philanthropists of Iran, Late Seyed Hossein Fallah Noshirvani. The college is situated in Babol a city in Mazandaran Province in the north of Iran, 20 km south of the Caspian SeaThe college is constructed on 11 hectares land and occupying 3 big buildings and 4 large & spacious workshop and laboratories blocks housing 4 Engineering departments. NIT is proud to have the biggest, huge, and spacious amphitheater in Mazandaran. It is well equipped with all facilities required (video projection, advance sound track system and lighting system) required for the local & national educational seminars and other regular college and local functions. The amphitheater is furnished with 750 comfortable seats (550 seats in the main hall and 200 seats in balcony). Adjacent to the amphitheater is an administration block housing Director's & Deputy Director's officesAs of March 2008 it has been upgraded to the Babol (Noshirvani) University of Technology.
