Columbia Mental Health, LLC serves people of all ages with a variety of problems including anxiety, depression, marital and relationship issues, addictions, chronic pain and illnesses, anger management problems, life transition challenges, and problems related to past trauma.With offices in Columbia, Moberly, Bowling Green, Troy and Perry, Columbia Mental Health is now serving a large portion of Northeast and Mid-Missouri. The company was founded in 2009 by CEO Ross Walden, who began his work in human services in 1990. He founded Columbia Mental Health's parent company, RJD, Inc., in 1992 in order to provide Individualized Supported Living services to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.Walden received his M.Ed. in Counseling from Quincy University, J.D. from the University of Missouri, M.B.A. from William Woods University, and B.A. in Interpersonal Communication from Truman State University. He has served as an adjunct faculty member at William Woods University and Hannibal LaGrange University.Columbia Mental Health is led by Program Director Angela Barton. As a Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Mediator, Barton provides therapy, mediation services, adoption home studies, and foster care home studies.She earned her Master of Arts in Professional Counseling from Lindenwood University and her Bachelor of Science in Education in Secondary Education from Hannibal LaGrange University. She worked with Missouri Children's Division as a Social Services Supervisor prior to founding Family Circle Therapeutic Services in Bowling Green, Missouri in 2003. When Family Circle merged with Columbia Mental Health in 2015, Barton was named Program Director of Columbia Mental Health and Clinical Director of the organization's parent company, RJD, Inc.
