The Asociación Mujer Canaria Siglo XXI is a non-profit association of Canarian women by birth or adoption, and without any political or religious affiliation. Our main objectives are to promote the participation and presence of women in political, economic, cultural and social life. We are also fighting to promote the principle of equality between women and men, to develop the spirit of solidarity and cooperation between women and to establish services of common interest to women, among others.Our scope of action covers the Autonomous Community of the Canary Islands, so any woman born or resident in the archipelago will be welcome to MUJER CANARIA SIGLO XXI as a member. Our association, Mujer Canaria Siglo XXI, was born on the 21st of April 2010 and throughout these years has developed several projects and proposed initiatives that you can see in the section Our projects.As an association, MUJER CANARIA SIGLO XXI, is formed by its associated members. Its governing bodies are elected by its members through free and secret suffrage. The associated members can access all the positions in equal conditions.Its governing bodies are: General Assembly: Sovereign body of the association which is composed of all its associate members.Board of Directors: Permanent organ of government, management and administration of the Association. It is composed of a maximum of 14 members elected in accordance with its statutes. The main purpose of the Board of Directors is to try to meet the needs of the associate members through information and advice, as well as to serve as a link between all of them. As well as, to maintain in a constant way, meetings with public and private institutions to carry out agreements or arrangements that will benefit the associate members.
