We provide two distinct but related services to impact lenders and farmers. Our services include assessing farmers' creditworthiness and offering lenders the opportunity to loan to creditworthy farming operation(s).Farmers in Sub-Saharan Africa are among the most marginalized in the value chain, and this can partially be attributed to the limitations of the cash-based economic system in which they operate. The lack of investment and sky-high interest rates in this sector derive from the lack of a reliable tool to assess creditworthiness for this population and a platform for impact lenders to lend directly to these farmers. Our mission is to unlock the potential of commercially viable small & medium-scale farmers by turning their cash-based operations into credit-based businesses. As an AgTech & FinTech firm, AgroFides provides two distinct but interrelated services to lenders & farmers (i.e., borrowers). With our innovative Fides Score, AgroFides collects & analyzes data about farmers and their environment to generate a "trust" score to quantify the creditworthiness of a farmer for the use of creditors. We then offer a peer-to-peer lending platform to facilitate loans from impact lenders in the U.S. to small & medium-scale farmers in Africa starting with Ghana. AgroFides seeks to challenge the traditional notion of charitable giving by calling for investment in Africa beyond aid and allowing both farmers & our cohort of lenders to prosper from the partnerships we cultivate.
