Since our start in 2007, Handful Players is committed to the development of underserved youth, in San Francisco, using the vehicle of musical theater and performing arts. With the active involvement of talented local artists, primarily of color, we provide inclusive access to high quality performing arts workshops and performances to help students discover avenues for creative expression and build life skills. We provide free year-round performing arts programs at schools and community centers for inner-city youth, ages 7-18, in a variety of arts disciplines, including theater, dance, puppetry, spoken word, rap, and clowning. The children collaborate with acclaimed theater playwrights to create original, culturally relevant plays, performed live on stage for their families and the community.
