communIT are a social enterprise based in the North West and focused on the reuse and recycle of IT equipment for the benefit of the planet and the community. We collect unwanted computer equipment for reuse or disposal from a number of donors.Equipment that can be reused is refurbished and offered to charities, not-for-profit organisations and disadvantaged individuals in the community. Equipment that cannot be reused is recycled and kept out of landfills.In providing this service we provide local employment opportunities and work experience for volunteers.Our mission is to make a positive social change by providing refurbished information technology equipment to small businesses, not-for-profit organisations, low income and disadvantaged individuals and families primarily within the North West; and to actively work towards reducing the amount of toxic information technology waste deposited into landfills.
