Our mission at Africans for Mental Health (AFMH) is to break the stigma of mental illness in the African Community. Our goal is to deliver programming focused on mental health education, advocacy and policy engagement, mentorship, referrals and support, public awareness, and research for a healthier compassionate global village. We are doing this work through the I Am Africans for Mental Health Initiative where our goal is to identify key stakeholders—persons living with mental illness, caregivers, advocates, mental health professionals, and organizations—who are passionate about mental health and normalizing mental illness. We believe that it takes a village to raise a child and an adult.
