PHAREX Health Corporation is a Philippine pharmaceutical company. Previously, PHAREX was a subsidiary of Pascual Laboratories from its incorporation in 1973 up to 2016.PHAREX is short for Pharmaceutical Excellence, believing that the products and services should be of superior quality. It started as an exclusive marketing, sales, and distribution arm of Pascual Lab. In 1987, when Pascual Lab appointed Metro Drug as exclusive distributor of its brands, it also assigned PHAREX to market and distribute its generic products. The move was auspicious because soon after, the Generics Act of 1988 was enforced. In 1991, PHAREX pioneered promoting the corporate-branded generics to medical practitioners. By the mid-90s, Pharex medicines became available in all major drugstores and pharmacies, including the major chain drugstores. By the turn of the millennium, more and more doctors were convinced about the quality of Pharex medicines.Product lines continued to expand in the 2000s, covering therapeutic categories like anti-infectives, cardio-metabolic, gastro-intestinal, and vitamins. In 2006, the company launched the mass media campaign for Pharex B-Complex. In just a few years, the product became the number one B-Complex brand in the market.Today, PHAREX continues to market a wide range of products manufactured by Current Good Manufacturing Practice (CGMP)-certified suppliers both here and abroad. After years of success as a generic pharma company, it will progressively transition into a business of branded products that puts nutrition, immunity, and protection at its core. The goal is to promote positive health among consumers by improving and developing products that improve overall health.
