In 1990 Barry Pounders was working as a Paramedic at the Phil Campbell Rescue Squad in Alabama when he noticed that they were having difficulty getting their claims paid and he wondered why. After digging in and finding out everything he could about Medicare law and insurance companies he started billing claims for the Rescue Squad.After a short while they started getting reimbursed for the vast majority of their calls. Eventually, it started getting around that the Rescue Squad was getting paid for most of their ambulance transports and Barry began to gain new customers through word-of-mouth. Before long Barry had to recruit his wife, Joyce, to help him at night when they both got home from their day jobs working in the school system because he was so busyAs time went on Barry eventually started employing people from the community and the business began to grow. In 2007 Barry and Joyce formed Ambulance Billing Service, LLC and the company has grown to over 30 employees. Today, Ambulance Billing Service is ran by it's management team that still holds true to Barry's core values of treating people fairly and doing the best job possible.We are proud to still employ people from the community as well as paramedics who regularly run calls. We are dedicated to being an invaluable extension of your ambulance service by having the most knowledge and expertise of the ambulance industry available. We don't just serve the EMS industry; we are part of the EMS industry.
