We represent over 6,500 hotel workers who work in more than 30 hotels in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. Through UNITE HERE Local 25, union and non-union hotel workers are building a movement to lift hotel jobs into the middle class. Our members are the men and women who check guests in, cook and serve food and drink, make beds, scrub tubs, and do all the other hard work that makes the hotel industry in our Nation's Capital highly profitable. Hotel workers have demonstrated, picketed, and organized on the job to build a strong union that fights for good wages, affordable health benefits and retirement security, as well as strong contract language protecting them from injuries at work, promoting the hiring of African Americans and protecting the rights of immigrant workers. In the past five years, thousands of hotel workers have fought to win contracts that raise the standard of living for hotel workers and their communities.
