PILLAR Institute for Lifelong Learning is a nonprofit that provides lifelong learning opportunities for the Pikes Peak region of Colorado. Instructors are retired and current university and college professors, industry professionals, and other experienced individuals. Over 300 liberal arts and science classes and 3 catalogs a year are produced. Classes include higher level classes in history, philosophy, economics, science, art, music, literature, and health. Lectures by community leaders are hosted by PILLAR and have included General Michelle Johnson of USAFA, Lynne Telford of Care and Share, Dan Steever of the Gazette, and Mayor John Suthers, Bill Vogrin of the Pikes Peak/Tri-Lakes Courier and formerly of the Gazette, and John Weiss editor of the Independent. PILLAR also produces educational trips and tours to places like Italy, Denver Art Museum, and Native American Indian reservations. Partners include Colorado Technical University, Pikes Peak Library District, The Gazette, , Colorado College's Women's Educational Society, University of Colorado - Colorado Springs' Lane Center.
