Head of Program Research and Innovation at Mindfulness Without Borders - Toronto, KS, US
Mindfulness Without Borders (MWB) brings best practices in mindfulness and social-emotional learning to youth and the professionals that surround them. We address core social-emotional competencies and basic mindfulness practices to tackle the challenges that affect people—social, economic and environmental. Through professional training workshops and youth-centered activities, our programs place high priority on developing an intelligence of the heart – to bolster positive emotional development, critical thinking, resilience, and overall well-being.For Youth: The Mindfulness Ambassador Council offers a platform for youth to engage in constructive dialogue on the strategies they need to enhance their success and satisfaction in school and life. The research–based curriculum contains 12 lessons that help youth develop resilience, set goals, resist negative peer pressure, pay better attention, and regard themselves as contributors to personal and social change. For Adults: Our professional development training for educators, parents, and professionals allows individuals to examine closely the processes by which they think, feel and act. By wedding mindfulness and social-emotional intelligence into our workshop content, program participants learn ways to increase their well-being, regulate their emotions and behavior, reduce reactivity, manage stress, and establish present moment awareness in both professional and personal environments. Our online training courses will provide a platform for people from around the globe to take our evidence-based program to their respective communities. Level One will explore a repertoire of skills to identify emotions, manage stress, promote present moment awareness and discover ways to bring mindfulness to life. Level Two will identify the key teaching techniques used to implement MWB's research-based Mindfulness Ambassador Council in your school, classroom, community organization or workplace.
