FRC Team 7902: Markham FireBirds is a community based robotics team under FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology). We are dedicated to spreading the knowledge and importance of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) throughout our community.Every year, we compete in the FIRST Robotics Competition, an event that combines the rigours of engineering with the excitement of sports. Students have six weeks to design, build, prototype, program, and practice driving a fully competition-ready, 60 kg robot. Afterwards, the team competes in competitions across Ontario against hundreds of other teams and their robots. Mixing mechanical engineering, with electronics, with CAD, and programming, this is as close to real engineering as any high school student can hope to learn.
