Moms as Mentors is a non-profit organization that provides mothers the tools, time, and space they need to be mentors in their daughters' daily lives, ultimately helping their girls to grow into confident and influential women. Our hallmark mother-daughter programs offer invaluable mom and daughter bonding time, fun, interactive games/challenges that promote teamwork and communication and tips for moms on topics like how to be confident role models. Moms as Mentors first launched in 2007 with a focus on health, wellness, self-esteem, and leadership for mothers and daughters. In 2014 we relaunched as the non-profit, "The Moms as Mentors Project" and began building programming that centers around fields where women continue to remain underrepresented, especially in key positions of leadership, such as STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) and business. All of our programs are designed to be accessible and approachable, regardless of a mom's educational/professional experience. The main theme is always to be together and have fun! 93% of moms and 95% of girls leave our programs feeling closer to one another (even if they already were close). Our "Build Bridges!" mom-daughter program features enjoyable, hands-on activities emphasizing the STEM fields and provides moms practical tips on how to nurture their daughters' STEM confidence. 92% of participating moms say our programs give them tools for being a "STEM" mentor for their daughter and 100% of the girls say the program makes science and engineering fun.Our "Make It Count!" program incorporates meaningful mother-daughter activities focused on fostering financial empowerment and an entrepreneurial spirit. The program touches on age-appropriate topics like needs vs. wants, money values, and envisioning oneself as an entrepreneur. 97% of participating moms say program lay the foundation for familial conversations about money and 100% of girls say the program made money and business fun.
