Lighthouse, PLLC bridges the gaps in the healthcare system on an individual and community level. I work to fit the pieces together so the support you receive from the members of your healthcare team is streamlined. I coordinate with your doctors, providers, nurses, therapists, insurance, medical billers and debt collectors to minimize your personal expense and spent energy. Examples of my work for individuals: A mother of three realizes her son isn't meeting his developmental milestones. She knows she wants to have him evaluated but has no idea how to make the first step. We worked together to find an excellent provider to give a comprehensive Neuro/Psycho/Social evaluation. Emotions ran high during this process but she wasn't alone, I stayed with her through every appointment until her son received his diagnosis. I was also able to negotiate her bills for the subsequent care he requires which has saved her $3000 a year. We check in every once and a while to make sure her son still has what he needs. I love being in long-term relationships with my clients so they never have to face these types of challenges alone. An 85 year old woman was living well independently until she suddenly found herself hospitalized and given a new diagnosis of stomach cancer. We worked together to navigate her treatment decisions and ultimately get her into a new home that fits her health needs. A 35 year old woman is repeatedly hospitalized for symptoms that have baffled the top doctors in Seattle. Together, she and I have found a national specialist who has treated others just like her with success. For the first time in her 10 year long journey with her illness she doesn't feel alone. She and I are continuing our work to get her specialty care locally instead of requiring her to travel in her precarious condition. Along the way I've mediated insurance approvals and challenged each bill that didn't seem quite right to minimize her expenses.
