Adelaide Health Care opened in 1999 as an independent association of five General Practitioners. We remain proudly doctor owned and operated. We now have seventeen General Practitioners working at the Practice, many of these GPs have postgraduate training and experience in special interest areas such as skin checks and procedures, women's health, pregnancy and postnatal care, mental health care, chronic disease management, and allergic disorders. We work collaboratively with highly skilled Primary Health Care Nurses and a dedicated administrative team who are essential to our team approach. We provide high quality primary health services to people who live, work or study in the city or nearby suburbs. In addition to the more traditional approach to the medical care of illness, we promote better health by focusing on illness prevention and improving physical and emotional well-being. We support patients to learn about their health and healthy living. We are a fully accredited practice in accordance with the standards of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP).We have been an accredited training practice for GP Registrars since 2003. These Registrars are qualified doctors who have completed their hospital based postgraduate years and are training in the specialty of General Practice. We work closely with GPEx, the GP training provider for South Australia. A number of the GPs at Adelaide Health Care are Medical Educators and/or Supervisors for GP training. At times we have nursing students and medical students undertaking placements at the Practice.
