MI was established in Bangalore, in 1994. India's largest professional NGO working on disability-inclusive development. MI brings deep experience in the entrepreneurial spirit to improve people's lives. Rehabilitation, Research & Training Centre is a model of accessibility since 2002. It has a branch office in Guwahati, Assam, and field offices in Bangalore, Chamrajnagar, and Tumkur District in, Karnataka.We provide appropriate rehabilitation services, train from certificate to university level for allied and health care personnel, and are the only P&O school in India recognized by the International Society of Prosthetic and Orthotic (ISPO). In collaboration with - IIT Madras, BETiC lab in IIT Bombay, IISc., VIT, SBMT (DEBEL, DRDO), & other private organizations, MI conducts clinical trials of assistive devices and components. Community-based inclusive programs promote sustainable development and reduce poverty by improving the quality of life for people with disabilities, especially the most vulnerable populations. Inclusion education & social inclusion are combined with early intervention, therapy, & provision of assistive products for people with disabilities. Community-focused and person-centered.MI's reach - over 27 years we have reached south, east, and north-eastern India and middle-income countries.
