Organizational success is largely due to inclusive partnerships with local sports bodies, businesses and government agencies.The Augusta Sports Council presented the inaugural Ray Guy Award in December 2000. Named for Thomson, GA native and Oakland Raiders great, Ray Guy, the award honors the nation's best collegiate punter. Each year, the Ray Guy Award is presented on live television as part of the ESPN College Football Awards Show.
