The Fortius Institute is an integrated team of sport medicine, science and training leaders committed to best practices in prevention, performance, treatment, education and research. Our institute is at the heart of Fortius Sport & Health. The innovative model behind the Fortius Institute as a professional practice has evolved from successful pioneering models such as the Allan McGavin Sports Medicine Centre at the University of British Columbia and is based on what was deployed by Vancouver 2010 and recognized by the International Olympic Committee as the "best medical services" platform in the history of the Olympic Games. It should be noted that the Fortius Institute has been conceived, developed and led by many of the same people behind the VANOC medical team.
