It would currently seem that the only way to practice movement is through specific disciplines – gymnastics, dance, fitness, martial arts, etc. But there is another way – broader, more general, and connecting the dots, exploring the space between the disciplines. We create a practice around movement itself. The goal: to create an entirely new kind of creature: the mover – a person who can thrive within any physical situation, who can flow and improvise, who is strong, resilient, flexible, capable, expressive, and coordinated, and not just one or the other of these things.Classes are a bit of a journey, weaving through different topics, tasks, games, challenges: one moment, it might look like a strength and conditioning program, working with reps and sets and progressive overload… Then it might transform into something resembling a dance class, learning new patterns, refining motor control, and improvisation… In the next moment, it looks like you're in the circus, working on new acrobatic skills… And it changes again, and looks like something completely unfamiliar – dealing with coordination, tactical games, rhythm… something nobody else is doing. What classes are not: NOT a mish-mash, NOT cross-training. The content is not arbitrarily selected so as to deliver a confusing stimulus to the body. Classes are meticulously structured, planned with an eye for where things are going – classes are always in the context of longer term projects.
