COMPANY OVERVIEWEstablished in 1996, by two farming friends from North Canterbury, New Zealand when faced with a surplus harvest back in the summer of 1996, they got together to preserve their delicious summer fruits using old family recipes and turn the robust flavours into something truly sensational. Those first fruit pastes awakened taste buds, as well as long-forgotten food traditions, and set the stage for our full line of products and flavours.In 2001, the company changed ownership to the original founders daughter, Jan Meyer, keeping the company female owned and family operated. Today Rutherford & Meyer is a small and dedicated team of passionate foodies who enjoy creating products that enhance the lives of our customers.Our ever expanding range of gourmet products has transformed the company from a fledgling cottage industry into a thriving export company with export markets in the U.S., Canada, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand, Australia, Mexico and China. As part of our international focus we have three North American based sales people.OUR PRODUCTS & PURPOSEFor us, the best type of food is food which is shared with family and friends. We search the world for food traditions that are about fun, friendship and celebration, exotic tastes and flavors, unique recipes and fantastic taste experiences. We rediscover food traditions perhaps long forgotten. We like our products to be natural, contain minimal ingredients and we make them from ingredients that people know - nasty artificial colours, flavours, or preservatives. Where possible our products are also gluten free.We bring those ideas, and the finest quality ingredients, back to New Zealand to create products for you to enjoy with friends.
