Aquis Wasser-Luft-Systeme GmbH, headquartered in Lindau, was founded in 1995 as a specialist in the development and production of innovative solutions in the field of water filtration. The original knowhow was based on extensive experience in water softening of the former parent company Aweco, a global supplier of the home appliance industry such as BSH, Miele, Electrolux, Whirlpool, V-Zug, and others.Aquis developed the world's first filter integrated in a water tank (in-tank) of a household appliance. This unique solution became the basis for further development co-operations with special solutions for machine manufacturers worldwide. Even today, most of the production volume goes as "Claris" co-branding to well-known manufacturers worldwide, like Jura, Franke, Nestlé, SEB, Krüger, Pentair/Everpure, Trumpf and Condair. A filter cartridge system with bypass has been developed for the Foodservice area. With a patented technology, which is preventing corrosion and metal migration in coffee machines, the portfolio has been expanded. In the meantime, Aquis started its own sales channel with the brand "ClaroSwiss", parallel to its established OEM business. At the same time, water filter jugs for consumers were added.Aquis is ISO 9001 certified and has its own production facilities in Switzerland. Aquis is present internationally with offices and employees in Europe and Asia. In order to develop and explore the markets in APAC, Aquis has established its own WFOE (wholly foreign-owned enterprise) in Shanghai.
