Hedonism. Sex. Privilege. Gossip. Bass Industries is a leading New York City real estate conglomerate. Founded by the late enigmatic mogul Bart Bass, the firm today owns and operates the gems among New York commercial and residential assets. The properties under the Bass brand cater mainly to the upper crust of the upper east but has made a slight push south of 59th street with some investments in Brooklyn to capture the rapid gentrification that was ignited when a once-affordable DUMBO loft was featured extensively in a gossip blog with a (very) wealthy audience. After the mysterious disappearance of founder Bart Bass, the reins have been passed over to his son, bad-boy-turned-family-man Charles Bass. Once the face of hedonism, Chuck Bass barely made it through prep school and is perhaps the youngest CEO of a major New York corporation. We'd call him a college drop-out but that would imply he attended it in the first place, which he didn't. But it's ok. He's Chuck Bass. Among the prime landmarks under the Bass Industries umbrella are the Empire Hotel, The Milan NYC, Bass Tower, and Lotte New York Palace.
